Today is the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, etc etc. While what she is wearing today is probably gorgeous and heavily embroidered, I want to be sure to post about the gown she wore for her coronation back in 1953.
This dress was designed by Norman…
I’m trying to remember my history of the school, all I can remember is that the school did stitch her coronation robes. It’s why as part of the Apprenticeship (which has changed to a diploma - why they did that I’ll never know), you had to learn in your second year the techniques of goldwork, in case should the need arise to stitch the next robes. Now if it is Charles, it will be unlikely he will have a robe as he would wear full dress uniform.
My best mate worked on the dress as well, it was kept under wraps for months.
I’m trying to remember my history...can remember is that
